API FAQ

Coverage, pricing and licensing — answered before you write any code.

What is PuntersEdge?

An Australian-first sports and racing odds API for developers. One REST/JSON endpoint returns live prices from Australian bookmakers, plus next-to-go racing, best-odds comparison, arbitrage and value endpoints.

Which bookmakers are covered?

Racing — 15 books: Sportsbet, BetDeluxe, BetGold, BoostBet, TAB, BetRight, PointsBet, TABtouch, Palmerbet, Betr, Unibet, NextBet (formerly PlayUp), Ladbrokes, Neds and bet365.
Sports — 6 books. See the full coverage map for which books quote each sport.

Which sports and racing codes?

Racing: Australian thoroughbred, harness and greyhound, plus New Zealand thoroughbred and harness — there are no New Zealand greyhounds in the feed. Sports: 20 sport keys — AFL, NRL, NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, the English Premier League and other soccer, tennis, cricket, rugby union and MMA/UFC. Per-sport depth is much shallower than racing. Measured 2026-10-06 over the trailing 7 days, Rugby Union, NBA, NRL, NFL, College Football, AFLW, WNBA, Super League, NHL and EPL carry more than one customer-served bookmaker on the majority of fixtures; on Tennis ATP, Tennis WTA, MLB, NRLW, Soccer (Other Competitions), Basketball (Other Competitions), Cricket (Other Competitions), MMA/UFC and Test Cricket you are usually looking at a single price. The rule is one line — a sport is multi_book when at least 50% of its quoted fixtures in the window carried two or more customer-served bookmakers, single_book when it is below that, seasonal when no served book quoted any fixture, and not_queryable when the API 404s the key — so a sport is in exactly one of those lists. A-League (1 books, 11 fixtures) is ingested and quoted by a served bookmaker but is not reachable: the API 404s the key. It is measured here and excluded from the coverage table rather than counted as coverage. Depth follows the seasonal calendar, so check the coverage map before building on one sport.

Which countries do you cover?

Racing covers Australia and New Zealand; sports are Australian. Those are the only two countries with a real bookmaker panel behind them. Measured over the seven days to 2026-09-02, an Australian race carried a median of 13 quoting bookmakers and a New Zealand race a median of 10, while a race in any of the other 25 countries that appear in the feed carried a median of one — those meetings show up because an Australian book lists them, and one price is not a comparison. Filter with country=AU or country=NZ. Live figures: coverage report.

Can I try it without signing up?

Yes. The demo endpoints need no key at all and return live data — so you can verify the coverage claims on this page before creating an account. Try the playground.

How much does it cost?

Free is $0 for 3,000 credits, no credit card. Paid plans run from $9/mo, or ten months’ price for twelve if you pay yearly. Full breakdown on API pricing.

Can I pay annually?

Yes, on every paid plan: an annual plan is ten months’ money for twelve months of service, and credits still reset on the 1st of each month rather than pooling into one bucket. Pick a plan from the annual row on API pricing. Already subscribed monthly? Reply to any email from us and we move you across by hand rather than starting a second subscription.

What is a credit?

Requests cost credits — a typical racing or odds call costs 1–3 depending on the endpoint. Check your usage any time via /v1/usage.

How do I know a price is fresh?

Every racing quote and every sports market carries its own age_seconds — that is the number to read. Sports markets also carry a quality object with a score and a status, and the status returns ok, warn, stale or bad. It flips to stale once the market is older than quality.stale_after_seconds — echoed on the object itself, currently 1800s — so it works as a staleness gate. The event-level data_quality.status rolls up to the worst book on the event, not the best. Racing books are re-read on a per-book cadence that is not uniform — some within seconds, at least one materially slower — so read the live per-book figures on the coverage report rather than a single rate. Rather than trust one median, read the age each response carries: age_seconds on every quote and data_age_seconds for the oldest book on a race. Feed integrity is at /v1/data-quality/summary (which reports only the connectors your key can read — the Betfair Exchange and Pinnacle reference feeds are withheld there too) and uptime at /v1/uptime.

What can I do with the data?

What you may do with the data follows your plan: personal use on Free, Hobby and Standard; display with attribution on Plus; commercial use on Business and Scale; redistribution on Platform.

Keys created on or before 15 September 2026 keep the earlier licence — commercial use on any plan — for as long as the key stays in use. Full wording in section 8 of the terms.

Is this official league data?

No. This is bookmaker odds data. For rights-cleared enterprise feeds, an enterprise provider is the right call.

Is this financial or betting advice?

No. PuntersEdge supplies raw odds data for information and application development. It is not advice, and no outcome is guaranteed. 18+ only.

Does PuntersEdge promote responsible gambling?
